3 Ways to Prep Our Hearts for Christ with Mary

Mary made room for Jesus spiritually AND physically. Imagine the moments she spent talking with him in her womb as she went about her day-to-day throughout the 9 months of her pregnancy. Imagine her rocking him & singing him to sleep. Feeling his little kicks and nudges for the very first time and squealing with delight to get Joseph’s attention! And imagine Joseph coming quickly to share in her delight. Imagine the way she looked at her little son and King when she saw his adorable baby face for the very first time! I wonder if she recited the Magnificat.

When Mary bore Jesus into this world, she continued to live a quiet, glorious, precious, hidden life. Imagine the peace that filled their home—a beautiful, warm, cozy home illuminated by the light & love of their son, Jesus, and the grace that poured forth from his beautiful mother. And of course that light of the reflection of God the Father in the protection, purity of heart, tenderness, & strength of St. Joseph.

This week, this very LAST week of Advent, let’s make room for Jesus, our love! In little hidden ways, in quiet ways, and through small sacrifice, reflection, & prayer. Here are 3 ways to prepare our hearts for Christ with Mary this last week of Advent:
  • Meditating on the ordinary yet sacred moments of the first Christmas & the JOY of the Holy Family
  • Sitting at the feet of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament with Our Lady
  • Spending time with Mary in prayer; praying the rosary & reflecting upon the Christmas mysteries
Lord, help us to make a way for you spiritually and physically like your mother. So that beyond this Advent & Christmas, our hearts will only continue to expand, becoming so full of you that we bear your light & love into this world! Amen.
